American Welding Society (AWS)
The American Welding Society (AWS) is a nonprofit organization that develops many of the key welding codes and standards used in the U.S. and worldwide. AWS publishes structural and fabrication codes, such as AWS D1.1, that define how welds must be designed, produced, and inspected. They also provide certification programs for welders and inspectors, including the Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential.
